Should Commissioners get paid $68,000 for attending weekly meetings?
On a Monday, Thursday and Friday in October 2007, I went to the Clark County Government building. Collins and the rest of the Commissioner were absent for the entire day according to the receptionist that had to stop reading her newspaper to speak with me. Is this a good use of our tax dollars? Commissioners seem to be handling the duties of their job similar to that of a director on a board of a corporation. As a voter, I thought the commissioner's job was a full time position. Collins counts on the County Manager and her staff to recommend all solutions to problems and how to vote. Trust but Verify, should be how Collins manages his position.
