Collins states (Anybody that's upset, that's their problem)
No wonder the the Democratic Party of Nevada seems to be divided
Collins' decision prevents Democratic Party Fight - Las Vegas Sun - February 24, 2007
Unhappy Caucus leaders confirmed that they had been searching for a strong candidate to run against Collins in the March 2007 election for Democrat state chairman that Tom Collins had held. Collins had refused to recognize Democrats individual caucuses and they lost their seat at the table. Collins also had cut a large number of central committee members from the rolls who had missed past meetings. I know of a Nevada Assemblywomen that had represented Nevada for more than a decade that was taken off as a central committee member.
As for his detractors, Collins, who developed a reputation as an over sized personality with salty language, offered this explanation: "There's always going to be people trying to stir up (expletive). We followed the rules. We won elections. We made great strides. Anybody that's upset, that's their problem."
I believe that the more you learn about Tom Collins, the more you will know that Tom represents only those ideas that he believes in or those special interest groups that help get him elected. I think there could be many comparisons between Collins and President Bush. Both only represent those who they consider to be important. Both do not represent all of the residents they are elected to represent. Both consider themselves cowboys. A large majority of Democrats do not like President Bush. How can they like Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins?
