        Is it possible that a long time Democrat Official like Tom Collins has these kinds of belief? Is it possible that Collins would actually address a democrat caucus of nearly 100 to tell them of his beliefs? Is Collins really a Democrat? Is Collins just Ignorant or just incompetent? Should Collins represent any resident of Clark County?

       Here is the shocking thoughts of Commissioner Tom Collins.

       In Collins' speech he made a point that gays voluntarily choose their life-style and are social deviants unworthy of equal rights. Collins was asked how he felt about the doctrine of separation of church and state in political matters. Collins said "that he follows the teaching of his church". Then Collins said "The ERA movement and women have damn near destroyed the Democratic Party!"

        As the Nevada State Democrat Chair, Collins was nothing short of a bully and dictator. Collins violated the Bylaws of the Democrat Party by openly supporting Mayor Gibson when Gibson ran against Senator Titus in the Democrat primary for Governor. Collins did succeed at fund raising but divided the party. Consequently, There is a war raging between the party faithful, progressive activists and the entrenched good old boys and good old girls.The good old boys and girls care more about the elite holding power than the ability of the party to succeed in electing modern, progressive candidates and winning on advancing issues.

       As state chairman, Collins removed every single Central Committee member that did not support Collins and his positions by denying them their positions and voting privileges. Collins then attempted to go after the voting rights of the Democratic Caucus Chairs and Presidents of clubs. He attempted to deny their legitimate positions by executive fiat. This sounds like a President Bush method. Collins seems to have a total disregard for others civil rights and liberties, the principals of democracy and the rule  of law.
      Collins was my Assemblyman for 10 years and is my Clark County Commissioner since 2004. One of the reasons that I decided to run for office in 2002 against Collins, was that he did not respond to any of my letters, phone calls or emails. He handed over his power in Assembly #1 to Marilyn Kirkpatrick to help get her elected. This effort was against me in 2004 and 2006 when I ran against Kirkpatrik. Over the last 6 years I have concluded that the Democrat party of Clark County was working against me. This article shows me that the Democrat party of Clark County was working against other Democrat candidates also.

      So far the new leadership of the Clark County Democrat Party is not using methods that would make Collins very happy.
